This guy raises some great questions. I have to admit, I'm a pastor and I find it hard to believe a lot of the things in the Bible. Have you ever asked, where is the evidence for this stuff? Or do you believe just because you think you're supposed to? I think it is great to ask tough questions. We need to have reasons for believing what we believe, or else how do we know we aren't just being lied to?
For me, the Bible comes down to this, can we believe Jesus Christ? Here was someone who claimed to be God- he claimed to know everything in the universe! He was either totally nuts or would really know if the Bible was true or not. I think the evidence points to Jesus really having all knowledge. That's because solid historical evidence shows Jesus claimed he would die a horrible death and then rise from the dead, and guess what- he did! Crazy people can't do that. So, if Jesus was God and he believed the Bible, than I can believe the Bible too- it has someone in the know to back it up! For instance, Jesus said he believed the stories of Noah and Jonah in Luke 17:26-27 and Matthew 12:40. Certain things may be impossible from a human perspective, but God doesn't have to obey the laws of nature, he created them. If you have questions about the Bible, please, let me know!
